Nurse-Family Partnership

Program Goals

For first time moms to have a healthy pregnancy

To improve the health and development of babies

To provide useful, stable resources for mom and the family to be self-sufficient

Being a first time mom is hard – you’ve got this!

The Nurse-Family Partnership program at Casa de los Niños supports first time mothers by providing a free, personal nurse through your pregnancy until the baby turns two. Nurses will visit your home and provide nonjudgmental support and assistance for the whole family as you go navigate through this new time!

How Does It Work?

Being a parent is hard, but being a first time mom can be even more challenging. There’s a lot to learn, but your nurse will be there to provide support and education about pregnancy, monitor how your child is developing, and will assist in looking for resources to find a job, housing, or to continue education after giving birth.

Your free, personal nurse will visit one to two times a week in your home to assist in preparing for the baby’s arrival, answer any and all questions, and after birth, help make sure the baby is on track to hit all of his or her developmental milestones.

Benefits of the Nurse-Family Partnership Program

Your nurse will help you:

  • Have a healthy pregnancy and a healthy baby
  • Become a strong parent and build a solid support system for you and your baby
  • Ensure that your home is a safe place for your baby to live and play
  • Provide resources for healthcare, childcare, housing, and job or educational opportunities available in the community
  • Set goals for your family’s future and find ways to help you reach them
