Steps to Becoming a Volunteer
1. Complete a Volunteer Application Packet
You can obtain a Volunteer Application Packet by calling (520) 624-5600 Ext. 501.
Application Packet includes:
- Application Form
- Statement of Risk & Concern
- Medical Form to be completed by a doctor, which includes:
- Physical
- TB skin Test
- Record of MMR Vaccination
- Applicant Questionnaire
- Certification for Employment
- Parental Consent Form
- Commitment Statement
- Reference Forms (3 must be turned in)
- Photograph
- Drug Screening
2. Interview with the Volunteer Resources Manager

3. Background Check
If you are accepted as a volunteer, and you will have contact with the children, you will be required to submit to an F.B.I. Criminal History and Fingerprint background check. This requires a $65 fee paid by the volunteer, and must be completed prior to beginning your volunteer experience. You will receive all applicable information at your interview.
4. Attend a Volunteer Training
Attend a Volunteer Training, if accepted as a volunteer at your interview. Volunteer Trainings are offered monthly, the training is 16 hours over 4 days. Trainings must be completed in its entirety prior to volunteering.
