Ways to Help
It is hard to overstate how much the people of Tucson have meant to the health and well-being of Casa de los Niños. The first nursery was located in a house provided by local philanthropist Cele Peterson. The first permit was funded by donations from staff members in the city Planning Department. In the early years of the agency, almost all the nursery’s caregivers were community volunteers.
Casa de los Niños has grown, certainly, but the involvement of the Tucson community remains vital to our children. There are a number of ways you can help us help the children of Tucson:
- You can make a financial donation to Casa de los Niños. Cash gifts critical if we are going to provide the same high level of programming our children deserve. Thirty cents of every dollar we spend comes from private donations.
- You can offer your time and talent as a volunteer. How important are our volunteers to the work we do with the children? We have almost as many regular volunteers as we do employees!
- You can donate an item from our Wish List, something we would otherwise need to buy.
- You can donate lightly-used furniture, lightly-worn clothing and other household items to the Casa de los Niños Thrift Store. You can also shop there! All profits help our children.
- You can participate in one of our special events, including the annual Casa Car Raffle held each October.
Thanks for caring, and for sharing with Casa de los Niños!
