Parents
The goal of our Parenting Education and Community Outreach efforts is to provide parenting education and other information about available resources to all Pima County families. It is critical parents, families and caregivers have the knowledge they need to raise safe and healthy children.
Casa de los Niños offers a free, open-to-the-general-public parenting education program that promotes relationship-building with children. Two of the evidence-based classes now being offered are “Nurturing Parenting” and “Active Parenting Now.” For a look at the classes we offer, click here.
Our parenting education classes are funded in part by First Things First. Funding for materials used in our Active Parenting Now in 3 series comes from State Farm Insurance offices in Tucson.
Casa de los Niños also makes presentations throughout the community. We try to take part in community activities designed to educate parents about available services and how all of us can prevent child abuse.

NOTE: Approved by Arizona voters, First Things First works to ensure that our youngest children have access to quality early childhood experiences. The goal is to help kids start school healthy and ready to learn. Local partnership councils throughout the state work with community leaders to identify the health and educational needs of children under 5.
