In-Home Programs

Casa de los Niños has two programs that offer in-home support for parents and families:

Nurse-Family Partnership

One of our in-home initiatives is our Nurse-Family Partnership program, which is funded by First Things First. This program is designed to help low-income mothers manage their initial pregnancy and delivery. Nurses work with pregnant moms to improve medical outcomes both for mother and child. Mothers will receive pre-natal counseling, in-home support and needed nursing care. Following delivery, both mother and baby will receive medical support and referral information. Casa de los Niños believes the first step toward the prevention of child abuse is to help mom deliver and care for a healthy, happy child.  For further information about the Nurse-Family Partnership model, click here.

Raising Healthy Kids

Another home visitation program is Raising Healthy Kids. Also funded by First Things First, this program offers services in Central Pima County. It is designed for families of children under 5 who are lacking appropriate resources or an adequate support system. Our team members will provide information on early-childhood development, help with parenting skills, and support for families with special needs. The goal is to prevent potential child abuse by helping families learn good parenting skills and develop a plan leading to self-sufficiency and family stability.

NOTE:   Approved by Arizona voters, First Things First works to ensure that our youngest children have access to quality early childhood experiences. The goal is to help kids start school healthy and ready to learn.   Local  partnership councils throughout the state work with community leaders to identify the health and educational needs of children under 5.
