Foster Care

One of the agency’s largest programs is a foster care network with more than 100 foster homes in Pima county. Casa de los Niños recruits and trains individuals and families who wish to provide excellent temporary care for abused and/or neglected children. We help families through the licensing process. Once these parents are licensed and have children placed in their homes, the Casa de los Niños Foster Care Program provides them with ongoing education and support they need to be successful with their fostering experience.
Our Foster Care Program is particularly interested in working with foster parents who have the desire and ability to care for medically fragile children, sibling groups of three and more, and teenagers.
Over the course of the 2009-2010 fiscal year, Casa de los Niños foster homes served more than 350 children. Foster families provide support during times of need; building strong families and communities.
