Our Programs

Casa de los Niños is best-known as a Crisis Shelter, and our on-site residence for abused and neglected children is the heartbeat of the organization. On any given day, 25 to 45 kids will wake up at Casa de los Niños. It is more than a warm and loving home. Children in the shelter also receive physicals, around-the-clock medical care, and assessments that will help Case Managers develop an appropriate case plan for every child.

While the shelter is at the core of our program, we also offer a variety of programs designed to prevent child abuse and to care for kids who have already been abused.

  • Our Parent Education and Home Visitation programs are designed to help at-risk families avoid abusive situations before they occur. We also manage the Pima County Parent Info-Line – (520) 624-9290 – for parents needing advice or referral information.
  • Casa de los Niños is a partner in the Tucson Safe Baby program. Mothers can leave their newborns with us if they are unable or unwilling to keep them.
  • Our Foster Care network includes more than 100 foster families throughout Southern Arizona. More than 140 children live with foster families recruited, trained and supported by Casa de los Niños.
  • Our infant Mental Health clinic, known as Great Beginnings, provides counseling for children who have experienced or witnessed abuse.
  • We also have two supervised visitation programs. Our Judicial Supervision Program enables parents to stay connected with their kids after a recent separation or divorce. Our Family Visitation Program helps re-unify with children temporarily in foster care.

Together, our various programs touch more than 2,000 children a year. If you need additional information on any of our programs and services calls us at (520) 624-5600.
