Nurse-Family Partnership

September 24, 2009

From Susie Huhn,

Executive Director

The Nurse-Family Partnership program, a health program that helps at-risk mothers through their first pregnancy and delivery, has announced that Casa de los Ninos will soon begin offering NFP services in Tucson. Earlier this month, we received formal notification of our acceptance to the NFP network. Our staff members are now receiving training and will begin seeing patients within the next two weeks.

The Nurse-Family Partnership plan is a voluntary prevention program that provides home nursing services to low-income, first-time moms. Nurses begin home visits early in the mother’s pregnancy. Care and counseling continue until the child’s second birthday.
