Arizona's Child Abuse Info Center The InfoCenter acts as a clearinghouse for information, consultations, and training opportunities for professionals dealing with child abuse issues throughout Arizona, including the unique issues of children with disabilities and special health care needs. Childhelp USA® Childhelp USA® is one of the largest and oldest national nonprofit organizations dedicated to the prevention, treatment and research of child abuse and neglect. Children's Action Alliance Children's Action Alliance (CAA), founded in 1988, is a non-profit, nonpartisan research, policy and advocacy organization dedicated to promoting the well-being of all of Arizona's children and families. Through research, publications, media campaigns, and advocacy, we act as a strong and independent voice for children who cannot speak for themselves. Law for Kids America's first stand alone web site dedicated to teaching children about the law. The Site was created by the Arizona Bar Foundation with the specific goal of educating Arizona's youth, their parents, communities and schools to increase their knowledge about youth laws and to encourage law-abiding behavior. Tucson Safe Baby A grassroots, multi-disciplinary group under the coordination of Casa de los Niños that works to ensure community awareness about the Safe Baby Program. The Safe Baby Program was passed by the Arizona Legislature in April 2001. In a legal exception to prosecution for abandonment a woman (or a representative) can hand over an unwanted newborn within 72 hours of birth to a safe place including Casa de los Niños, retain her anonymity—and prevent the tragedy of newborn death. National Runaway Switchboard The NRS operates a confidential hotline for runaway youth, teens in crisis, and concerned friends and family members. All services are free and available 24 hours a day. Center for Effective Parenting The Center provides in depth information on improving parenting skills through service, training and research. Child Welfare League of America CWLA provides an exhaustive list of resources dedicated to positive parenting. Family Education A family reference guide where parents can find school solutions, homework help, parenting tips, and expert advice.
