Do you have to be a certain age in order to volunteer at Casa de los Niños?
Yes, you must be at least 16 to volunteer at Casa de los Niños.

 

Can I just drop by Casa de los Niños to volunteer?

No, all volunteers must complete an application packet, be interviewed, complete 16 hours of training, and be able to commit to 3 hours a week for a 6 month period.

 

Are there any housing accommodations for out-of-state volunteers?

No, Casa de los Niños does not provide any housing for volunteers or staff members.

 

I want to help at Casa de los Niños but I cannot commit to 3 hours a week for a 6 month period?

You may help in other areas such as special events and fund-raising, which happen periodically throughout the year.

 

May I bring my own children with me when I volunteer?

No. We ask our volunteers to make other child care arrangements for their children during their volunteer time.

 

How do I get a volunteer application packet?

Call 624-5600, ext. 501, leave your first and last name, home mailing address, including zip code, and it will be mailed out right away. Or submit this contact form.

 

The application process says I need to have a fingerprint background check, if I’ve had one done do I need to repeat the process?

Not all fingerprint background checks are the same. We require a valid Arizona Department of Public Safety issued Level One Fingerprint Clearance Card. If you have this type of card and it is current, we can accept it.
