with the Tucson Arizona Boys Chorus, guest soloists Nancy Davis Booth
and Erin Booth, and narrator Jeanne Landdeck-Sisco. |
| CHILDREN CAN THRIVE PROGRAM added to Residential Services providing
parent training, developmental evaluation, and nutritional assistance
for children who are underweight or diagnosed "Failure to Thrive." |
1994 | ARIZONA ATTORNEY GENERAL'S DISTINGUISHED SERVICE AWARD presented to the
Casa de los Niños Residential Program for outstanding service to
victims of crime. |
1995 | KELSCH ADMINSTRATION AND HOLSCLAW FAMILY CENTER construction began for
Casa de los Niños’ newest facility to house Family Service Programs and
administrative offices. |
| LINDA RONSTADT BENEFIT CONCERT titled “An Evening for Children” from
which Ms. Ronstadt designated a donation of $100,000 to Casa de los
Niños. |
| HEALTHY FAMILIES PROGRAM added to Prevention Services providing in-home
visits by Family Support Specialists to assist parents in areas
relating to their children's development. |
| PARENT LEGAL EDUCATION CENTER added to services providing legal
education for parents regarding rights and obligations concerning their

1996 | MEDICALLY VULNERABLE PROGRAM added to the Residential Program serving
children with such severe medical needs that they would otherwise have
to be hospitalized. |
1997 | ACTIVE 20/30 CLUB OF TUCSON ACTIVITY CENTER AT POOH CORNER remodeled to
accommodate double the children in pre-school day program. |
| FAMILY VISITATION PROGRAM is revised from the former Judicial
Supervision Program, to serve voluntary clients experiencing custody
disputes. |

Child Protective Services cases offering referrals to appropriate

new programs in the Residence. Services include developmental screening
and treatment for medically vulnerable infants & toddlers and
self-esteem building activities for the older children. |

| O'RIELLY FAMILY FOUNDATION AND UNION PACIFIC FOUNDATION honors Casa de
los Niños with grants to refurbish the older children's residence,
which is renamed the ORFA residence. |
1999 | CASITA DE SALUD (Little House of Health) opens to offer outpatient
health care to former clients and children in the foster care system. |
| Employment Transition Program offered as a community collaboration with
4 other agencies to move welfare recipients into productive employment. |
2000 | ATTORNEY GENERAL JANET RENO AND THE U.S. DEPARTMENT OF JUSTICE'S OFFICE
FOR VICTIMS OF CRIME awards Casa de los Niños one of eleven National
Crime Victims Service awards for outstanding service to child victims. |
| KIDS CAFÉ offered in collaboration with the Community Food Bank begun
to provide low-income children with a nutritious meal after school.
Program moved to Community Food Bank in 2002. |
2001 | SAFE BABY PROGRAM formed as a community collaboration by the Pima
County Attorney’s Office with local hospitals and child agencies to
prevent newborn abandonment. |

new equipment, through the generosity of the Joseph Stanley Leeds

services to at-risk families reported to Child Protective Services. |
| JUSTICE SANDRA DAY O’CONNOR visits Casa de los Niños and reads to the
shelter children from her new book on her second day of retirement. |
| NIGHT FOR CHILDREN launched as an annual fundraising event generating
over $97,000 from donations received at private parties throughout the

| CHILD ABUSE PREVENTION PROGRAMS expand to include POWER OF AN HOUR
offering parents the opportunity for receiving parent education in a
non-stigmatizing environment, with other familiar parents, and
supported by their employers or other communities. |
